To not be able to sleep because I’m worrying

I can’t sleep because I’m worrying about tomorrow. I know what I’m worrying but I’m not sure how to explain it without ranting. Just can’t sleep because of it and feel so so tired

Make a warm drink, have your rant, then draw a line under it and go to bed. Letting it out may empty your head.
lack of sleep sucks.

i already have a coffee. In shorter words I’ve got ti make a scary phone call tomorrow and I can’t sleep in worry. I can’t do much either while awake right now as if I accidentally wake up DH he’ll be moaning, he’s in the same bed as me.

Well the DH silent pressure won’t help.

Tbh I’d probably give up sleep for now and haul myself downstairs where at least I can make a drink/have a pee/fart without fear of waking up “his lordship”.

Retire to the couch with a hot drink and a blanket. i’d then fire up the kindle - we all know social media/this place indices anxiety - and sleep would come approximately 20 minutes before family wake up.

Write down what you want to say in the phone call, rough draft with swear words or expletives, as many as you want, once you've written it all on your laptop/computer/phone (or on here), walk away from it/put it down and wander off. Now it's out of your head it might stop tormenting you, if not, have another go without swear words. Do this as many times as you need to until you feel like you're in control of it. It's just rationalising x

Sympathy from me - I’ve got to make a phone call tomorrow that the recipient won’t like and am also wide awake! Sending virtual ‘sleeeep’ vibes your way.

This, the person I’m calling won’t like it but I don’t have a choice

This was what I did in the end, I ended up downstairs. Still not made the phone call yet as still worrying about it.

Just do it. The longer you wait the worse it will be.

Fireworksinthesky · 29/01/2023 12:13

Just tried to do the call and it went to voicemail

Just tried again and voicemail again

Hope you’re ok, OP. Can you leave it in a voicemail or could it be an email instead? This might take the strain out of it.
