I am having a huge declutter of the house.

For me, what I find hardest is knowing how much money I have wasted over the years on tat.

I know the money is already gone, but there’s part of me that wants to try and make some back as money is tight.

The biggest area I find this hard to part with things is baby clothes. Especially those that are unused and I know could sell. I do re-sell on vinted but then have stuff hanging around until it sells.

Anyone have any tips on getting over this and just parting with it all?

Please share your decluttering secrets with me!

I listen to the Minimalists podcast and read their book. Brilliant.

I separate into charity shop, car boot sale and bin! If I don't think I can get more than £2 for something, it goes to the charity shop, the only exception being baby clothes as they always sell well at car boot sales even if only for 50p an item, it adds up when you're selling basically an entire wardrobe!

I sell anything decent kids and me a clothes on vinted. Toys if they’re postable sell well too.
anything else we car boot twice a year and usually make several hundred pounds.
I always sell things cheaply too, so people feel like they’re getting a bargain.

Watch Stacey Solomon’s Sort Your Life Out on BBC Iplayer for a bit of motivation, make it fun and tackle one area / box at a time, 3 piles - charity bag next to you, bin bag, selling pile and keep. Everything being kept needs to have a place and you either need it/want it/use it. Try and put yourself into the mindset if someone offered me this now for free would I need/want/use it? If not don’t bother keeping
