To feel sorry for Brooklyn Beckham?

I just do feel a bit sorry for him. He's completely out of touch with the real world obviously, but he's so young and so gormless. But seems so determined to be famous in his own right, despite no specialist skill set. I wonder do famous parents ever encourage their children to go to uni and get a real job? Or is that not an option? There are plenty of fulfilling jobs he could do, teaching, nursing, even volunteering ( as he clearly doesn't need the money)
I feel bad for him as he gets mocked online, but he still seems determined to put himself out there.
Money aside, I do feel sorry for the children of spectacularly talented parents, it must cast a long shadow. ( I repeat, money aside...😅)

I don't know anything about Melanie Chisholm's kids, or Emma Bunton's, or even whether they have any. It's quite possible for those who have been a passing pop culture phenomenon to raise their families in relative privacy, should they choose.

But it's hard for any child whose parents are money spinners and whose entire family name is primarily a brand rather than a private relationship. The same is true of the incredibly rich influencer parents in the states, Ryan's world being a notable example. His family are swimming in money, but the exploitation of their child is something I consider reprehensible.

The biggest case-in-point is the Mountbatten-Windsors. It's especially hard on those (the majority of that family) who have no discernible talent, burning vocation or real aptitude for anything.

Yes, rich people's problems and all that. But I have to think this would be a really unfulfilling and limited life that ultimately brings little good to those who live with this supposed privilege. Of course none of this is the children's fault. But, as with anything else, you are in control of how you respond.

Was mentally applauding every word & then spotted your username.

Small wonder a Pullman fan can knows how to conceptualise & create compelling prose. Enjoyed that immensely, cheers Goose Brew Cake

Story told by Liza Tarbuck:
She asked her dad for some money , she was a teen at the time, maybe 15. He told her if she wanted money she had to earn it, he’d always had to. So she got a Saturday job on a market stall in the local town. But it was a very early start, Jimmy Tarbuck was worried about her cycling along unlit lanes so he got up at 5 am to drive her there —- in the family’s Rolls Royce :)
But she stuck at the job. That’s a proper upbringing.

IsThePopeCatholic · 28/01/2023 13:08

He seems to be completely lacking in talent or drive. I don’t feel sorry for him though.

AnotherNameChangeYes · 28/01/2023 13:09

He’s just another celebrity child with a long list of ‘jobs’ after their name. DJ/model/TV presenter/actor/influencer/whatever you feel like being this week.

Look at all the celeb offspring who are apparently ‘models’. All the Gallagher children for example or the Moss offspring. None of them would be models if it wasn’t for their name.

The business has recorded record looses totalling £66 million

Could be a clever tax dodge, who knows?

Ridelikethewindypops · 28/01/2023 13:09

I wandered off for a while, alot of posts. I look forward to the ' ookin' franchise as patented by pp. Also thrilled by the idea that BB is trolling us all, that would be a master stroke!

He's young, he will figure it out

Fab attitude from her dad.
You want it - you earn it (even if I have to ferry you around until you're old enough for a bus).

I did the reverse. Dad wanted me to go to uni. I got a job as I didn't want to sponge off him and wanted to "pay my way".
First weeks pay was £40, he got half.
I felt quite proud of myself. Grin

Eldest son joined the Marines

wow, daughter went on strictly come dancing.

musingsinmidlife · 28/01/2023 13:11

He started dating Nicole in fall of 2020 and they got engaged in June 2021. He was only 20 / just turned 21. I wonder why the rush to get married so young? Just bored and purposeless and wedding planning was something to do?

aonbharr · 28/01/2023 13:13

DesertRose64 · 28/01/2023 10:19

Gordon Ramsay's son is in the Marines

There are pictures of him and if I saw him coming at me I’d try to get away as far as I could, as fast I could. He looks very much Like the real deal.

what is the real deal? 😂

It’s easier to establish a brand when you’re married. It starts with the flash wedding and will shortly move on to a reality TV series a la the Kardashians

TheObstinateHeadstrongGirl · 28/01/2023 13:14

And I’m convinced this so called feud between BB’s wife and Victoria is a ploy for press interest to build on their future narrative.

karamazing · 28/01/2023 13:16

Nicola Peltz may be a nepo kid but she can photograph beautifully. He probably saw her as a better trophy than what his brothers could ever get so he did whatever it took to rush down the aisle with her.

MrWhippersnapper · 28/01/2023 13:16

Jack’s definitely a Royal Marine and the older girls were at uni

To feel sorry for Brooklyn Beckham?

Outfor150 · 28/01/2023 12:57

She’s one of the younger ones, I thought.

you are correct.

SerenaTee · 28/01/2023 13:17

People feel really strongly about people they’ve never met 🤣

He’s no different to many other in the public eye, turning their hand to anything that keeps them in the media spotlight. His biggest crime appears to be having famous parents as far as I can tell from posts here.

maddy68 · 28/01/2023 13:18

I dint understand why he's getting so much vitriol. He's just a famous kid trying to do something with his life.

Kid? He’s 24

HelloBunny · 28/01/2023 13:19

He just doesn’t have the x-factor.

Say what you want about other talentless people who’ve made it - Paris Hilton / Kim Kardashian - at least they had that little something even if they couldn’t dance / sing / act. Being managed well (the sex vids notwithstanding) also worked for them. I wonder if Brooklyn is doing anything with Simon Fuller?

sashagabadon · 28/01/2023 10:13

One of the other sons play for Brentford FC and is apparently quite good

In the second team ,the first team he played for was part owner by Daddy...

HelloBunny · 28/01/2023 13:20

Things only started to work out for Kelly Osbourne once she came under Joan Rivers’ wing. Sharon had tried, but was too close to home. Brooklyn might do better now he’s broken away from his parents.

beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder, that marriage can't and won't last. It was a moment in time for attention and exposure and whilst the 2 believe it is about their everlasting love, it is not to be.

orangegato · 28/01/2023 13:21

What you get when parents blow smoke up his talentless arse. A halfwit thinking they’re talented and embarrassing themselves, it must grate on people with actual cookery/photography talent that he gets a platform for a fucking bacon butty.
