The airline has gone into administration and is telling customers not to go to the airport.

Sad for ruined travel plans and staff that will lose their jobs.

Not sure if they will get bought out, but that only happened in 2020 so perhaps they are just not viable?

AIBU to wonder whether any other travel companies may be at risk?

If you watched anything Flybe have done closely since restarting, you would see that this is a long time coming.

Last minute cancellations that are liable for EU261 Payments alone would be enough to drown them - their performance has been shocking since they came back.
Throwing money at branding, launching new routes just to can them sometimes days later, aircraft not being delivered, high turnover of staff due to rubbish contracts - I feel sorry for some of the crew who went back thinking the glory days were back - now they find themselves redundant for the second time in three years.

I don't think that other airlines are in bother - sure, Putin isn't helping and neither does the gift that keeps on giving (Brexit) but the recover post pandemic has been largely positive it would seem.

They didn't earn their Flymaybe nickname for nothing.

They were pretty crap before the pandemic (used to use them regularly in a previous job - flymaybe was a well deserved nickname). Clearly got worse since, sadly no surprise for me. Hope the staff can find alternative work.

Arg I had flights booked with them over half term. What are the chances of getting any money back?

notimagain · 28/01/2023 07:27

Agree with @loopyloutoo that to that to outside observers this appears to have been on the cards some time and it's real kick for the employees..

Their homepage this AM carries a little bit more detail.

Personally not sensing any others but sometimes you can never tell.

If you booked with a credit card you should get your money back. So sorry for all those who have lost their jobs.
