Is this a bit woo or coincidence?

I have 7 year old twins, boy and girl.

my daughter was off school today poorly. Around 11am she suddenly shouted that her arm was hurting, I had a look, nothing there. It was her left arm.

5 minutes later we got a call from school, DS had had an accident and they think he may have broken his arm. Left arm.

Woo or massive coincidence?

Woo

MasterBeth · 27/01/2023 18:44

Coincidence. That's literally what a coincidence is.

Thedogscollar · 27/01/2023 18:47

Woo. It's the twin thing👫

giveituplucy12 · 27/01/2023 18:48

Same thing happened to me as a teenager. Got a sore elbow. My mother got a call that my brother had dislocated his elbow playing sport. For years to come my elbow would start to ache at odd times, no reason. Turned out my brothers elbowed ached in bad weather. He lived I a different part of the country to me.

scrivette · 27/01/2023 18:49

Twin thing, my twin friend had strong cramping pains and phoned hew twin who was in labour.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 27/01/2023 18:49

Depends how many times this hasn't happened.

Harebrain · 27/01/2023 18:50

DH is a twin and it’s definitely a “twin” thing.

Tisahardlife · 27/01/2023 18:50

Woo

Hope your son is ok

Iamatissuebox · 27/01/2023 18:51

twin friend of mine has been involved in scientific research studying this - it’s a thing. Proven under controlled conditions.

TiptoeThroughTheToadstools · 27/01/2023 18:51

Woo. I also have 7 year old twins boy and girl, they have often felt pain for each other. My sister and I, not twins used to get bad feelings about something happening to the other and all but few occasions we were right, I do think some siblings have a connection.

RagzRebooted · 27/01/2023 18:51

Twin thing. DH is a twin. Apparently one of them would get all the teething symptoms and the other would wake the next day with the tooth!

That settles it!

HereComesMaleficent · 27/01/2023 18:53

It's a twin thing so "woo" I suppose.

Builtforcomfortbutnotspeed · 27/01/2023 18:54

I have twin brothers

twin 1 was sat on the sofa watching tv one day-twin 2 was out playing in a neighbours garden
twin 1 suddenly sat bolt upright and said ‘mum, twin 2 has hurt his back’
my mother told him not to be so stupid
then the door went-it was the girl that twin 2 had been playing with-he’d slipped on some metal and sliced the small of his back open
mad dash to hospital-a week to the hour later, twin 2 tells my mother that twin 1 had hurt his back too
my mother dashed to the door-twin 1 had slipped and sliced the same spot on his back
both have matching scars to this day

twin 2 fell off the back of the sofa and broke his arm-twin 1 wasn’t there when it happened-he was at the allotment with my father-he told my father twin 2 had hurt his arm and it really hurt at the same time twin 2 fell

loads more, but I saw those with my own eyes-it’s a twin thing

HaveYouSeenNancy · 27/01/2023 18:55

I believe it's a twin thing. Both of my parents have a twin set of sisters as siblings, they're all in their early 70's now and it's happened all their lives, especially when it involves pain.

AngelinaFibres · 27/01/2023 19:11

I had a dream that my brother aged 18 ( not twin . 13 months apart) had crashed his sports car into a field. Phoned my mum to see if he was okay. He was okay but he had indeed crashed his sports car into a field in the early hours of that morning

Do you have a link @Iamatissuebox ?

I remember studying it briefly at university an eon ago and there was no evidence to support the theory then. I'd be interested to read the developments.

Bluekerfuffle · 27/01/2023 19:46

I’ve heard of this twin thing, but would have thought it’s with identical twins more than fraternal.

TheObstinateHeadstrongGirl · 27/01/2023 19:47

Coincidence.

MotherofBingo · 27/01/2023 19:55

It's a twin thing, both sets of twins in my family (one set on my mums side and one on my dads) have had similar things happen sooo many over the years that none of us question it, they're always right.

One of them knew that their twin had been in a bad accident in another country before anyone had even had a phone call, she rang their mum to tell her that her twin was in trouble.

nopenotplaying · 28/01/2023 08:45

I also have boy/girl twins and they are very in tune with one another. More so than just a regular sibling relationship.

Wow. That's amazing! Actual scientific research that proves everything we know about physics and biology is wrong? I'm surprised this hasn't been in the papers. Do you have a link?

EatYourVegetables · 28/01/2023 12:35

Yeah I’d like to see the link to this research as well, not just a vague claim it exists.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 28/01/2023 12:40

I don't see how you'd research this. It wouldn't be ethical to inflict injuries on the research subjects.

custardbear · 28/01/2023 12:41

It's a twin thing - hope your little boy is ok
