i am having a major clear out, loads of things going to charity shop and selling some bigger things. i put a advert in the paper to sell a fishtank we have that we have never used and asked for £40.

someone just called about it and said is £40 the lowest you will go and i said to tell you the truth i would sell it for £30 just to be shot of it. the man said he will come tomorrow to have a look at it.

dh has just gone crazy at me saying i should have stuck to the £40, ffs is it not worth missing out on a tenner to get my (only) cupboard back!!!

it was in the paper on saturday btw and no-one else has called.

My dh gets like that - its a man thing!

Ring the guy back and tell him you've had an offer of £35 on it, and see if he still wants to come round. Fish-tank gazumping. Could become an olympic sport...

I'd buy it if you lived anywhere near me- my little tank seems to have sprung a leak.

thing is the money is not even ours, my brother gave it to us when he moved house ( thanks for that} so when i sell it i will have to at least offer him the money, i know he will say give it to dd's (his neices) so its not even like we are dependent on another £10 to feed us. he is bloody ignoring me now!!!

Kerry, unless the fish tank still belongs to your bro, I should say nothing of selling it, nor offer him the cash. He might take it!
