Eyelash extensions pulled out my eyelashes?

I had some eyelash extensions over Xmas. I swear they fell out after about 7 days to 2 weeks taking my own eyelashes with them! My natural eyelashes aren't dark but are fairly long and now they are half as short. It's like I've only been left with baby lashes?

Is this normal? I've had it done several times in the past but not for years. I don't remember being left with eyelash stumps! What could have gone wrong???!

Thanks x

The sign of a bad lash tech. I've had this experience a few times with them.

Hmm, I used to get extensions and they did trash my natural lashes. However that was with repeated applications. It seems unusual that yours are this way after only one. Don't worry though, a good eyelash serum will build them back up in no time.

Thanks! I didn't know there was a serum so will investigate!

This always happened to me every time I had eyelash extensions - and everyone I know! I think the idea is that you have loads of eyelashes growing at one time and lots of them are short and baby length and lots are longer, so they put the eyelash extensions on the longer/older/stronger one but they usually fall out with the extensions in time and all the little baby ones are the ones that are left at the end and yes they're about half the length of your old normal ones! It will grow in time so don't worry too much but something to be aware of as eyelash extensions aren't great for you.. you have to keep going back to hide the short stumpy ones unless you just give up! I've stopped now!

If the lashes used are too thick for your natural lashes they can cause stress in them causing them to shed prematurely. This messes up the natural cycle as they all come out at the same time instead of gradually. Then they all grow in at the same time. You can end up with all of them then shedding at the same time again for a few months until the individual hair cycles go out of sync again.

A good tech should be assessing your lashes and selecting the appropriate extensions for them

Thanks. It's been very disappointing!
