I posted on here a while ago on an old account and can’t find the thread anymore unfortunately, but basically it was a ‘should I get medical help or am I being dramatic’ type thread. And I was one of those annoying OPs who posted asking for help, then when everyone said to call the doctor/a&e/111/OOH I kept saying do I really need to? Can I not just ignore it/get something from the chemist/does anyone have any advice? And even though everyone told me to get help because it could be serious I just downplayed and said yeah I’ll go to a doctor at some point (honestly, I don’t know what advice I was even looking for in the first place if I just ignored everyone who said to get help! I think I was just in denial)
anyway, very long boring story short, turns out I’ve been having asthma attacks and I found out the pretty nasty way as it kept getting worse and I couldn’t just ignore it anymore and it was really bad. I’m on some heavy dose treatment for it now and oh my word, I hadn’t realised how lovely it is to just effortlessly breathe. I’d forgotten what it was like. I haven’t had any more attacks for a while now and it’s been amazing. I only wish I hadn’t waited until it got so serious before listening and getting help.
I know nobody will remember the exact thread especially as I can’t even find it myself, but just posting really to say thank you to everyone and that I’m glad I got help. I had stupidly not realised how serious asthma could be. I wish I had got help before letting it get so bad but it’s controlled now thankfully.
