Misinformation about teachers pay

Just a note - a lot of people keep mentioning teachers salaries to be 40/50K - that is only if you have responsibilities or are management.

I lead 3 subjects and am only on m2 not even on 30k and don't get any extra for all the additional responsibility. All I get it's one day a term out of class to monitor and only for 2 of them.

The top of the scale in Scotland with no extra responsibilities is over £42,000 and it’s around £39,000 in England outwith London. I say this as a teacher! (Albeit at the bottom of the scale currently!

I don't understand the confusion. In Scotland, probation (NQT) year is £28K, by the fourth year as a qualified teacher the salary is £40K see here
