..and use the money for DP and I to go to the download festival instead??

DD is 7, DS is 3 and I am due the third the beginning of April.

We have been thinking about hiring a villa and going abroad for a week or two, but for the money we would spend we could get DP's aorents to have the DC's go to the Download Festival and also have a week in a caravan somewhere.

Is it selfish putting me and DP having some time to ourselves before the kids getting a decent holiday abroad??

does your dh think you are being unreasonable, and are your PIL's happy to have the dc's? Surely they are the only things that matter. Kids don't NEED a holiday abroad ffs!

VictorianSqualor · 06/02/2008 13:43

I know they don't need one but as we were going to have one feel a bit selfish if I use the money for something else.

PIL's will be fine and DP doesn't even know I've thought it, he'd be ok as well though I imagine.

no, not unreasonable at all then.
kids will just enjoy a family holiday wherever, and the time for you and dp will be great!

That's true alittleone, they'd love to stay with DP's parents.
Spoke to DP and he's going to call them later and see if they're ok with having them.

YANBU - My dc's love caravanning!!!!

Even though we go abroad every year, my DS (9) recalls his best holiday as one we took in a caravan to Cornwall.

I am so , would love to do another festival with dh but leaving dc's with my parents means a 700 mile round trip for either us or them.

Thank goodness DP's parents are close by!
