Have one DC(1) and one step-DC(14).
We have a two bedroom house, currently in the middle of a small extension in to create an extra bedroom so that both kids have their own rooms. (Step-DC stays a couple of nights per week.)
Both working full time, but paying off various (significant) debts so not in a position to move house at the moment with house prices inflated as they are.
I am keen to have another DC close in age to DC(1), and always imagined two of similar ages due to my own close relationship with my sister (less than 3 year age gap).
DH would have another but (reasonably) cites finances as why we should be 'done', and lack of space at home.
We've both said we would be looking to move in the next few years anyway, and even if not entirely feasible, small DC could room share while very little if close in age, and older step-DC is likely to move out late teens... (wants to start working and get own place rather than go to uni apparently!)
Am I being totally unreasonable to think, we'd make it work if we really had to in order to have another DC? Or should I get over it and focus on being able to spend more on the DC we already have? Any experiences of regrets either way?
