Dd12 boy mad

Is it normal for this age to be boy mad? It’s not sexual it’s just wanting to phone or meet boys saying they are all fit, saying they are going out with them!
feels like it’s non stop

My DD 12 is the opposite, thinks they're all dicks, but your daughter sounds completely normal as well. I know girls much younger who are pretty keen on boys too.

Once a week, I give a lift to three girls who are that age. One is always first out of the sport's hall. One is out reasonably quickly if the third isn't there. The third is always the last person out because she walks slowly along the gallery stopping to watch the boys who start training after they do. Talk in the car is always this boy, that boy, phoning, sending photos (yes, I did stop the car and give them a talking to!), meeting up. The first girl sits in the front rolling her eyes!

So I'd say totally normal for some but also totally normal to not be interested.

Yeah it's normal. I was like that and it started around 12 as well. Always had celebrity and boy crushes through my teenage years.

I agree with @DinDjarin . At this age it's normal for many girls to be obsessed with boys and normal for many girls to have no interest at all. In fact, this was why my eldest drifted apart from their BFF as a preteen. One wanted to talk about boys nonstop, while the other hadn't the least interest in the subject and just wanted to play with stuffed toys!

Of course it’s normal.

Ihatethenewlook · 25/01/2023 09:31

I’ve got a 12 and a 14yo and they’re not interested at all. They were both horrified when boys asked them to prom or when they get a valentines card. I have put them in an all girls school though to keep distractions to a minimum

This is why girls preform academically better in all girls schools than girls in mixed schools.
