Ex husband and girlfriend

My ex husband has gone away with work tonight leaving our 2 children with his girlfriend (it’s his contact night) my AIBU is that I have no phone number for the girlfriend (she won’t give it) and as far as I am aware she doesn’t have mine. I’m worried if something happens the ex is away somewhere in the country and she won’t have my number.

she’s a nasty piece of work and I’m not comfortable her having the children but I don’t think there’s anything I can do is there???

No there isn't anything you can do, any more than he can veto your choice of overnight babysitter when the DC are with you.

But you need to tell him

a) to make sure your contact details are available in case of need
b) that if's going to be away, in future please would he arrange a swop, so the DC still see him just on different days

I wouldn't be very happy at all.
Are the dc old enough to ring you if they are unhappy?
If not I would be not leaving them with her full stop as she is,as you said,nasty.
I would also be considering going back to court to amend the order about them going there when he is absent.

you've not said if dc like her,have previously met her or if they were happy to go so my answer is only based on the given information.

They do like her but she is very manipulative and pushy and both kids are people pleasers. Since meeting they have no 1:1 time with dad only as a group.

we have both left the children with family before if we have to work (ie Grandparents) this is very occasional but it is the first time he has left them with her
