Thankyou for writing this thread.
I agree, it is rude not to say thankyou to someone who has gone out of their way to help you.

mustsleep · 06/02/2008 10:21

i know what you mean i used to work in a sandwiche shop and some people are just so rude no please or thank you a lot of the time

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/02/2008 10:22

this is one of the things that drives me mad - it is so rude

mosschops30 · 06/02/2008 10:25

YANBU

I get pissed off when people dont thank me when I let them thru when driving, to the point where I now dont let anyone thru and dont thank anyone and it doesnt bother me so much

YANBU - I hate it when people don't say thank you too - its basic manners.

Mosschops - this really winds DP up too and he does the same now. I always say to him that perhaps the people who were not saying thank you to him before were doing it for the same reason and everyone is just paying bad manners forward. Go on - say thank you again - it makes you the better person

VictorianSqualor · 06/02/2008 11:44

YANBU, I think thankyou should be something that people say because they mean it though, not as an automatic response, if for example I hold a door open for someone I prefer a smile and a nod than a verbal thankyou that sounds like I've forced them to say it, but with the two things you did, and went out of your way to do, I would have thought a thankyou was the least they could of done.

nailpolish · 06/02/2008 11:47

if htis happened to me id be right in their face
"did you get the copy of the school play? is it alright? HMMM?"
