Slime baff not dissolving! Help!

This is a shameless use of AIBU sorry. I let my children use their slime baff tonight, did it EXACTLY as the instructions say to. It slimed up perfectly and the kids had great fun.

popped the step 2 dissolver in and… nothing! It says to add warm water to thin it out to drain… nothing! It then says add more salt, I have used all our salt in the house, a large amount, I think around 700grams! Still nothing, I have added warm water until just below the overflow pipe. I now have a bath full of slime and I have no idea what to do! Please help me wise mumsnetters!

I swear I followed the instructions to the latter 😩

Oh dear god really? I honestly don’t think sieving it would help, it’s pure slime all the way through 😂

I've used this many times and never had a problem. How many packets did you put in ?

Sunshineandrainbow · 20/01/2023 19:51

I think the disolver is salt so maybe add more salt and leave it for a while

Lewiscapaldiscat · 20/01/2023 19:53

we used this - never again!!! My friend used it no problem - I don’t get it!

Soubriquet · 20/01/2023 19:53

Scoop it out the bulk of it and dispose of in the bin. A pain I know.

Then hopefully adding water to what’s left, should leave it safely go down the drain.

I’ve used the Gelli baff and crackle baff with no problem before, just added water to the Gelli and it went back to water no issues. I genuinely used one packet of the slime mix (green if that makes any difference) and then one white dissolver packet. Plus the extra water and 700grams of salt.

Our stayed like slime but thinner, I just pulled the plug out and then let it drain away. You could add some more salt at the end or some drain cleaner if worried

ReluctantCourier · 20/01/2023 19:55

Is your water hard or soft?

eleven2023 · 20/01/2023 19:56

Wow makes me nervous to let the kids use it again! I've seen mega packs and wondered if you used a kilo of it or something! Hope it thins out for you !

I wouldn’t mind doing that at all but I have one bin (obviously small kitchen and bathroom ones too) and I think a quarter of this slime would fill the big bin. It’s had 3 times the original amount of water in it so far. DH has found a site with a person who had the same problem and said white vinegar worked so he’s off to Asda!

Oooh it’s soft. Could that be the problem?

Just wondered when ppl said adding salt worked- maybe hard water has more salt in 🤔 I live in a soft water area and friends have had issues!

My kid had so much fun. And I think my electricity company is having a blast as well. The amount of hot water needed to dissolve is unthinkable. Also, in the times we are living in, it is absurd for a toy to use more than 100 liters of water to get ready and then to dissolve. Never again. They should send a pack of dissolver as they do to the other toy.
