To be leave whilst cleaner is here?

I have a cleaner coming this morning for the first time.

Do I go out whilst she's cleaning? It's a deep clean.

If so, how do I know when to come back, I don't want her waiting around for me? Do I pay before or after?

Ask how long it will take and come back roughly when she is due to finish. Pay when she is leaving.
I am here when my cleaner comes so she doesn’t do my office but I have only had deep cleans done when we have been away

If you want to go out do so, if not ask her which room she's starting in and choose a bedroom or lounge to stay in. Personally I'd ask roughly how long it willvtake and return 20-30mins prior. I'd then assess some of the rooms already done and feedback. Assuming all OK I'd agree any future/ongoing arrangements and pay cash this time, but back going forward

First 2 times my cleaner came I stayed (in bedroom)
After that I'd go out for a coffee in the middle (she had no keys)
Depends how your house is set up, having an office to hide in seems best.

Stay at home if you haven’t used her before or at least get her well started. I’ve had new cleaners who turned out to be hopeless at time management and had no chance of completing the work without my supervision.

If she immediately seems on it and competent you could pop out. Just don’t hover around and get under her feet.
