She's the current presenter of love island apparently and also stormzy's ex girlfriend.

Does she go out with dodgy men or have a social media account where she's said something bad or try to flog something dodgy like diet teas or crypto?

If expect ITV to vet her.

Crikey, I don't know. I've just noticed she was on the front of the metro & trending on twitter.

She advertises the McCrispy but is the new host of Love Island.

Maybe she trended because of what she was wearing and how she performed -she's good looking enough to be a contestant.

She’s a beautiful, confident woman who seems to be accepted as doing a decent job of presenting Love Island so far. Of course they’ll turn on her. They’ll spend a few weeks saying how amazing she is to build her up until everyone gets a bit sick of her. Then they’ll go in hard with a tweet she sent in 2011 or something.

No I think it’s the opposite, they want to make her the nations new darling, like the new Cheryl ala 2009. Problem is she swears so much on her social media, I can’t see as many endorsements heading her way.

Didn't she make some prejudiced comment about darker skinned black women a few years ago. I seem to remember a bit of a backlash about it unless I'm mistaken.

I don't read the kind of press that would tear her apart so I just take her for how she comes across which is extremely well from what I've seen of her so far.

She is stunning.

She's also a woman of colour. So go figure ...

(As for the comparisons already being made between her and Laura Whitmore or Cheryl Cole/Fernandez-Versini ... I wonder whether there is any difference between them and Maya that might explain this? I'm sure there'll be a couple of hundred posts soon enough spluttering that it can't possibly be what is being suggested, and that saying so violates their right to have an opinion and express it freely. Probably from the same accounts that hate on Meghan Markle too)

I think she's great and has forged a great career at a young age so should admired. I really hope the press don't decide to hate on her. Then again, they do love to tear down women so let's hope the viewers/readers don't buy into that bullshit.

As an aside I'm delighted Jeremy Clarkson has lost his TV gig but the outpouring of outrage by misogynists to that news in comments sections is sadly predictable.

I think she has integrity, she dealt with the whole Stomsy thing with grace and dignity. As a DJ she knows her stuff. I am not a fan of the whole Love Island thing, but I can see it is a career win, and she has to live in this world. If she is reading this thread, I wish her all the best.

Maya Jama is very popular already, this isn't her big break.

Aw, I love Maya, she's super cool and so beautiful. I hope she goes from strength to strength and doesn't become yet another "pretty girl in a skimpy dress" on the DM side bar.
