I understand this kind of topic always seems like potential troll but I promise I’m not, I’m a long term poster who unfortunately has a very bad time with IBS and stomach problems!
I’ve got IBS (diarrhoea type rather than constipation). I’ve noticed recently when I’m going to the toilet it seems quite oiley, as in there’s a layer of something on the toilet water. You know the oil sheen/layer when petrol spills into puddles and its like a sheen and almost looks rainbowy and it’s like there’s an obvious oil layer? This is exactly like that (obviously not rainbow though!) it’s like a layer of oil/fecal matter on the toilet water
Does this mean anything at all or is it just normal with diarrhoea/upset stomachs? It’s just happening more often and worse recently and I don’t know if it’s caused by a food I’m eating? Or is it just a normal in IBS?
ive had IBS for so long I’ve lost track of what ‘normal’ diarrhoea looks like because having an upset stomach is basically my life 24/7 unfortunately. I’ve noticed this on and off in the past but it’s happening all the time now- even when I’m not having an IBS attack but it’s worse when I am and it’s diarrhoea.
just wondering if it means anything at all or if it’s just a normal unfortunate part of IBS. Ive noticed the oil layer a lot more recently but my IBS has been horrendous recently so unsure if it’s part of it or if it’s maybe causing or aggravating it- basicallly I’m not sure what is causing what!
