Teens and bisexuality

AIBU to think that a very high proportion of teen girls (in particular) seem to be identifying as bisexual? In my DD's class (all girls) it seems like they've all announced this since Xmas. They seem to equate being 'straight' with being homophobic. It's not just her class either, I've heard this a lot from mums with kids in other schools. But at the same time, they say that they've never had a 'bias' (meaning a crush) or feelings towards anyone (male or female), but you don't have to have a bias to identify as 'bi'. It also depends on what kind of 'Stan' you are - ie. K-pop-Stan, 'Dream SNP - Stan.' (there are other stans, but I can't remember). They seem to go down a social media 'Stan' rabbit-hole, which changes intermittently. AIBU to feel totally out of touch with all this and not really know what to make of it. Also, I wonder if some of this is a reaction to the wave of toxic masculinity on the internet (ie Andrew Tate etc). Or is it now that the default is to be bi, until you find you are attracted to someone?
