Flower Delivery

A friend sent me some flowers for my birthday via a local florist.

I had no idea they were coming until I got home from work and saw them laying on their side in the front garden with no water in them.

I checked my Ring doorbell and the florist delivery driver had just left them on the doorstep in the wind and rain. They'd obviously blown over.

Equally, I live on a very busy city centre street and they could have been stolen.

I've checked the florist's website which clearly states that if nobody is home they will be taken back to the shop or left with a neighbour and a card will be put through your door to let you know. Obviously this didn't happen.

I've complained to the florist who has apologised, but it makes me think that my friend could easily have sent these and, if they were stolen, I'd know nothing about them.

I wonder how often this happens with florists generally? I've sent flowers before and not been thanked. I assumed the recipient was rude and never sent them any more 🤨

Post could get lost. Deliveries could get missed. Cards could get delayed. It’s just one of those things that could happen.

you did right to feed back but I wouldn’t give it much more thought.

How so? My friend spent approx £40 to £50 on flowers which were left out in the wind and rain and damaged!

Don’t make shit up. OP had no expectation that they be placed in her hands. Piss on your own chips, don’t come on here just to have a dig at someone else for no good reason.

@GreenEmeraldSea

You're incredibly rude. I think there's only one troll here.

I've not long come out of hospital after a long course of treatment. My friend sent me some flowers for my birthday to cheer me up.

I don't expect them to be put into my hand if I'm out, but my friend would have expected the florist to do what they promised and drop them at a neighbours or take them back to the shop.

I'm sure you'd be delighted with something that was paid for and delivered and then left in the rain or stolen off your doorstep.

I won't be responding to any more of your messages!

That seems very naughty to leave them outside.

It's a shame as what was meant to be a nice gesture has turned into a pain!

Myexpressflowers can do one!!! £110 for a bunch of daisies . I'd want them delivered by King Arthur and his knights on horseback for that.

I don't understand. What would you have preferred the courier to do?

I don’t understand this either. I’m surprised the courier 3 minutes to be honest.

Nannewnannew · 09/04/2023 16:46

Waited 3 minutes! Sorry.
