Men ARE in charge

kittycreative · 16/01/2023 19:06

do you ever think its better just to accept that men are in a position of being top dog and to let them just get on with it??

Maybe we should give up trying to get them to understand feminism and to allow them to take control , make the decisions and leave us be.

We could just enjoy ourselves and let them struggle , be who we want to be and let them deal with the major stuff. Doesn't sound bad to me!

women who allow this behaviour deserve to be talked down to or treated like shit

Well fuck me!! That's a some internalised misogyny you've got going on there. I suppose you're one of them selfish feminists who thinks equality is real because you're okay in your own little bubble.

I don’t think very few women have the financial freedom to ‘enjoy themselves’ as many pick up the bulk of the housework and house management, child rearing etc. And most have jobs as well.

Single, childfree.

I recommend it. Tell your DDs!

kittycreative · 16/01/2023 19:27

I don't really believe that men should be making all decisions, just a bit tired of fighting I think.
wondered if other women felt the same and feel like giving up

no not about a husband who doesn't do laundry.
I'm feeling defeated, wondering how we'll ever be equal or even listened to seriously.
Andrew Tate has made me feel lousy

Ah, I understand that's a downer.

I tend to ignore blokes tbh.

Not in my home

Secondly, nobody would have ever said that to The Queen

No. The women before us didn't give up, and we have a better life because they fought. We owe it to them to pay that forward to the women who come after us.

Nope so many woman are leaders in business, science, sport engineering. The issue is more education than anything, poorer woman are more likely to be stuck at home raising kids they can't afford.

Educated woman (or those running businesses) are more likely to have kids later in life at a point they can afford childcare to maintain their freedom. We also need to remove the stigma of leaving kids in childcare, the amount of woman who "need" to be at school pick up is bizarre.

As for Andrew Tate he's a rapest who I would love to see come face to face with the likes of Amanda Nunes or Claressa Shields in a ring.

JamieNorthlife · 16/01/2023 19:41

They will still find a way to blame us for all the problems. 🙄

I think the vast majority of men would be appalled to be compared to Andrew Tate or use him as an example of men in general.

At work and in general, I'll take on any person any time any place.

But, at the same time, if you're walking in a slightly secluded place and a slightly creepy looking bloke is walking towards you from the other direction, don't tell me your heart doesn't skip a beat. I hate that.

MadameDe · 16/01/2023 20:01

And there you have the whole suffragette movement wiped out by the start of one post. Women literally died for our right to be equal. In comparison, our lives are a lot better than they were back then. As a woman, I feel we have an obligation to keep fighting, to bring our children up with a sense of responsibility towards their families and to recognise that women have their own unique strength.

In a few months Andrew Tate will be in prison and largely forgotten about. Most men will then realise what a dick he is.

It would be great if girls were taught self defence in schools for this reason. I wouldn't feel any more threatened by a creepy bloke than a jumpy girl. My head goes likely hood of a weapon = level of threat. The bigger the bloke in general the slower they move and harder they fall

My late father used to say it wasn't worth voting. I reminded him that men also had to fight and die for their right to vote.

but now I see why he couldn't be arsed.

Honestly, don't get big ideas. I kickboxed for over 10 years but, whatever you do or know, someone several stone heavier than you can just walk through it and take you down. We played with stuff like that in the safe space of the gym and it was a sobering lesson.

You can't judge the likelihood of a weapon by looking at someone.

also, I don't believe that self defence could save 5ft me from a 6ft and stronger attacker.
