Walking my toddler and dog to the park this morning, lead in one hand and DC’s hand in the other. As we went to turn the corner (on the pavement) a fucking bike with some North Face tracksuited arsehole boy comes zooming round and almost mows my kid down. I had to literally knock them out of the way to stop them getting run over. I lost it and screamed GET ON THE ROAD at him. He didn’t look back.

It’s always fucking older teen boys on the pavement here, never women or older men. AIBU to think once you’re a proficient cyclist and 16+, you cycle on the fucking road and not the pavement? If your son (or daughter) does this please tell them to cut it out!!

I don't know how I'd have reacted but no one would be impressed by this arseholes behaviour.

It was a female student zooming along on the pavement here today

Totally oblivious

It’s always older teens - like they think ‘adult rules’ don’t apply to them yet when they do!! I get the feeling parents turn a blind eye as it’s safer for ‘their’ kids, never mind other people’s…

I worry about the teenagers (and it nearly always is) who ride in dark clothes and no lights at night. On the road or the pavement, it’s so dangerous for drivers and pedestrians.

It has been happening forever that some teens can be rebellious and think rules do not apply to them. It is not necessarily the case that their parents think it is safer - in some cases the parents are just oblivious.

Cycling fast on the pavement is clearly dangerous and he was in the wrong. You can report - for all the good it will do given the government has cut police back so far that any non-serious issue is ignored.

I would love to know why IABU!
