Do they show every week and time? Are they good ? What would be your limit to cancelling cleans?

I'm a cleaner. I wonder how many of you cancel your cleaner on a regular basis. I rarely ever cancel anyone, and work 50 weeks straight every year with only a break at Xmas.

I get clients cancelling regularly, often with only a few hours notice. one household who started late 2020 on a fortnightly basis, has cancelled 16 times up to now. I won't be returning, I've had enough. And out of 17 clients in total only 2 pay for their cancellations. The rest never offer a penny.

It's not all bad unreliable cleaners.

She comes approximately 3 times in 5. Texts another calamitous excuse the morning of.

Even more annoying, she has elected to start at 9am, rather than 10am.

However, what with the CoL etc, we just see it as a trim on expenses. We'd have to pay more for reliable, and they'd show every week! Saves us about £400 a year.

@Tootsey11 never cancelled once in 5 years without paying. In that time I’ve had around 5 different cleaners - all clean moderately to very well but just very unreliable after a few months. I don’t even think it’s pay related as I pay £17.50 an hour!

Mine changes days once every could of months on average and changes time of day at a similar frequency.

Sometimes can be a bit annoying eg if on the day and we've tidied round but other than that doesn't hugely impact on us. For us the trade off is she's been our cleaner for nearly a decade, she works hard, js trustworthy and is flexible with times of us if we ever need to change days.
