To check DP's messages after a fight?

I expect he might have said some unpleasant things about me while angry as we didn't speak for a whole day... and he's left his laptop downstairs so I could look.

Would you rather know if your DP had done this or not?

If you are willing to betray his trust and snoop on him is there really any point in continuing the relationship?

SandyY2K · 16/01/2023 01:40

Don't snoop.

We all say things that are unpleasant when upset.

ConfusedinOctober · 16/01/2023 01:41

Don't look, what good will it do?

theGooHasGone · 16/01/2023 01:42

Don't ask questions you can't handle the answers to.

Also, don't snoop. It's shitty.

Shoxfordian · 16/01/2023 05:27

No don’t do it; if you don’t trust him then break up

Aprilx · 16/01/2023 05:34

It honestly wouldn’t occur to me to check messages if we have a disagreement.

SausageInCider · 16/01/2023 05:36

My DH snooping on me would be pretty much unforgivable. Neither of us would do that to each other though

TidyDancer · 16/01/2023 06:33

Why would you think you have a right to see his private conversations? Do you never vent to friends about a bad day or a shitty argument?

Imo if you feel the need to do this or actually go ahead and do it then the trust is basically gone so what's the point in the relationship anyway? You don't have the right to invade anyones privacy like that.

DontSpeakLatinInFrontOfTheBooks · 16/01/2023 06:37

Why would you?
