Make up with sun protection, is it enough?

As a bit of a skincare fanatic, I often hear experts saying you can't rely on foundation or tinted moisturiser with SPF as the amount you have to apply would be too much for a tinted product. So I always wear a separate SPF product even in the dead of winter. But I was watching Steph's Packed Lunch this week and an expert said it was actually fine so now I'm very confused.

YABU - You don't need a separate product, that's just clever marketing and pretty obsessive.

YANBU - You definitely need a separate product, that's anti ageing/sun protection 101.

It probably depends on the level of spf too. My foundation has a 40 but most have factor 15 or 20.
Personally, as my dermatologist said never go out without 50+ (I’m fair) I would whack an spf under the foundation. It can’t hurt, right? And if it saves you getting a skin cancer cut off your face like I had, then it’s a no brainer. In summer I wear three layers - moisturiser with spf, the actual spf the dermatologist recommended, then my foundation.

The NHS says you are supposed to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, so do those who wear makeup just not reapply?
I don't wear it, so I'm not sure what people usually do.

Ambre solaire do a spray spf 50 for over make up. Doth my dm and dsis had skin cancer so I'm ultra careful.
