11 month old hitting- can I stop it?

Sorry for posting in here just for the traffic as posted elsewhere and no answers. Exactly as above. My nearly 11 month old daughter has been really bad for the about a month with smacking. She smacks me in the face but only seems to be when she's tired. I've tried telling her no and I do think there's a slight understanding of it as sometimes she'll stroke my face after I've said no. I don't know if there's a trick to get her to stop or if she will just stop in her own time. My main worry is that she goes to nursery and I'd hate her to be smacking other kids!

I think stopping her gently by holding her hand and firmly saying no is all you can do at 11 months! She might understand a little bit.
but she’s still a baby. I don’t think they can really control themselves until about 2 and a half and even then it’s difficult when they’re tired etc.

I wouldn’t worry about it, they all do this and nursery will know how to handle it if it happens.
