To think I can go out after micro needling?

Anyone here had this? I’ve not tried it but I’m booked in however the following day have a kids party to attend. Will I look stupid? Very red? Is the downtime more than one day? Shitting myself now and hoping I won’t look ridiculous.

Hi, I had this and was very red immediately after (like bad sunburn),but the following day I just had a healthy glow. If you are still a bit red, it's fine to put foundation on x

I also had micro needling done and depends on how your skin reacts. You will be very sore and most likely still be red in patches the next day. You absolutely can not put foundation on after 24 hours as it’s an open wound and it needs to heal. It’s a minimum of 48 hours.

Best thing I ever did for my skin but I was bloody sore for a good day or two.

Hi, I haven't had this or even know what it is exactly, but people's skins are very different. And the poster above said they were red afterwards but in a day were fine, however, your skin may not recover the same way (or could go the opposite way and heal and get less red sooner). Could you rebook the appointment? If you are still attending the party either way, then all good, but if it might be likely that you don't want to take your child over it then I think maybe consider rescheduling it.

Her availability is limited and I don’t want it too close to a wedding next week so I’m going to give it a go I think.

I love microneedling. Its great, looks best a few weeks after.

I usually am red for a day or 2 but im very pale so its more noticeable. I don't think you're supposed to wear make up for a couple of days.

It can make your skin dry and peel a bit like a sunburn. I use aveeno moisturiser or eucerin calming lotion to help.

If I were you I'd go for it.

growgrowinggrown · 13/01/2023 15:18

I agree with previous posters it totally depends on your skin, and if it is a superficial depth or more.

I am red and sunburnt looking for a good 2-3 days after, I'd go out and about to tesco etc but too much for a night out.

Also you can't wear any makeup etc for 48hrs after so not sure if that is something you'd bothered by.

Just to update so anyone looking for threads similar can see - I went for it - she used a 0.75 was barely red afterwards and skin is fine today and I’m okay to wear mineral make up over it anyway as it doesn’t clog pores she said. I’m impressed with it. Wondering if it would be significantly different if I go up to one or 1.5 next time?

I had it done today for the first time. Felt ok afterwards but having just cleansed my face (gentle gel cleanser) and put some skincare on, it’s stinging a bit! I’m hoping I see decent results, I like radio frequency facials usually but nobody anywhere near me seems to do it, and the few I’ve found seem ridiculously expensive.

GarlandsinGreece · 29/01/2023 00:23

Are you having microneedling with radio frequency or just plain microneedling? If the latter, you’ll look fine the day after; if the former, you’ll look red and rashy for another day.

I had the plain one, but one with LED treatment afterwards. My skin actually looks fine today but particularly after cleansing this evening is very dry. It looks good though, the tone already seems more even.
