Do uber eats drivers see the tip beforehand?

I'm wondering if it's worth tipping when you place your order so you get your food while it's still warm?

And, if you do tip before hand, rather than at the door, and get a rubbish service can you remove the tip? I genuingely wouldn't but was wondering about that.

Before I get called lazy, I have a broken ankle so the front door is about as far as I can go when we haven't got any shopping in.

I think they do as they are generally really busy round here, I’ve 100% seen a difference in my order being picked up much quicker by a driver when I’ve pre paid a tip. There’s no option I’ve seen to get it back though.

Stop tipping as a form of power over a service worker.

Start tipping because you’re receiving a good service to your door and you can help recognise someone who is doing that.

I will never withhold a tip from someone just because I have the power to. It’s crappy, it’s too typically British for me, I’d rather just tip, but give feedback to the actual restaurant or manager if there is an issue.

Imagine being a person who tries to claw back a £2 tip to a service worker …

I don't actually like tipping as a concept. I tip because I know the drivers are poorly paid. Tipping hides that.

I very rarely get take aways. The last time I did, I watched the driver pick up numerous deliveries from different restaurants and drive about 5 miles before he gave me mine. Obviously it was ice cold.

If I'm tipping anyway, why shouldn't I try to use that to my advantage? Put it this way, if I'd tipped 5 mile guy before he delivered, he'd have that tip regardless even though my food was barely edible.

I don't mean to sound like a dick. I know it's very poorly paid.
