Fuming with icelands

3 months ago I did an online shop with icelands well, they only sent £14 of a £80 shop, I contacted icelands for days but couldn’t get through, customer service wouldn’t help me as they said I needed to speak to the store, I could never get through it just rang and rang, so I contacted my bank who agreed to do a charge back, thought nothing of it till today icelands have taken the money back! This is 3 months later… apparently they’ve sent “proof” they delivered it, yea they did deliver it, £14 worth of it so that’s the proof they are using, the bank won’t help me anymore and have closed the case, aibu to be annoyed?! Is there anything else I can do here?

I have told this story before but when the Volcano erupted in Iceland in 2010 my dd was 9. She heard it on the radio and came to me in great panic and her exact words were 'There has been a volcano erupted in Iceland Mum, I bet its made a right mess of the High Street'.

I could just see in her mind the visions of frozen fish fingers and chicken nuggets raining down, One story I cant wait to tell her kids when she has them 😂

Have always found Iceland fine so surprised by this. Did they say why they couldn't deliver the rest? They always confirm if not available.

No its because saying 'Icelands' is a little bit of a silly thing to say and its quite fascinating that a grown adult is calling it this.

It's perfectly standard dialect in some parts of the country and just because it's not standard RP English, it doesn't make it wrong or difficult to understand.

Ive been here years and day by day the fun that used to be here is being taken over with so much seriousness. I remember years ago starting a thread where I misused the word 'Miffed' I was using it in place of 'confused' I didn't accuse anyone of being bitchy or anything else. It was funny!

As for dialect, I have lived all over but never heard random 'S's being put at the end of a word.
