Didn't realise my work was so bad !!!! I am shocked.
Would love to know what is the 'norm' not including statutory.

I think statutory IS the norm, OP!

CMOTDibbler · 10/01/2023 17:09

Mine was stat minimum

LIZS · 10/01/2023 17:10

Many non public services are statutory only. There may be omp for senior positions, to aid retention.

Lovelylovely34 · 10/01/2023 17:11

Really ?! Do some places not offer better, for example 3-6 months decent pay?

How long do you think is doable on stat these days ?

fairgame84 · 10/01/2023 17:11

Full pay for 8 weeks. Half pay + Smp for 15 weeks then smp for the remaining weeks.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 10/01/2023 17:11

Mine recently went up to six months full pay. Was four months previously.

Skihound · 10/01/2023 17:11

9 months full pay and can take up
to further 2 years unpaid

MadeofCheeese · 10/01/2023 17:12

Mine was 6 weeks 90%, 12 weeks 50% then Stay until month 9. I work for a university.

Mushroo · 10/01/2023 17:12

Mine is 22 weeks full pay, then stat till 39 weeks.

My old work changed the policy after I left to 26 weeks full pay, stat till 39 weeks.

Both large, private sector.

Watermelonsugarcube · 10/01/2023 17:16

6 months full pay, took the job for exactly this reason having previously been self employed

Lovelylovely34 · 10/01/2023 17:17

Some of these are are amazing !

Timide · 10/01/2023 17:18

1 – 18 weeks - full basic salary
19 – 39 weeks - SMP
40 – 52 weeks- No pay

Not great in my opinion

What sector is it?

ttcttc · 10/01/2023 17:20

16 weeks full pay

Anonymous48 · 10/01/2023 17:20

I'm in the US, so this is just FYI really. When I had my children maternity leave (at full pay) started two weeks before the due date and then lasted until six weeks after the birth (or eight weeks for a C-section).

kikisparks · 10/01/2023 17:21

6 weeks full pay and a further 20 weeks half pay plus smp then 13 weeks smp only.

NeedMoMoney · 10/01/2023 17:21

Mines just the normal stat pay, nothing extra at all from my work ☹️

Skihound · 10/01/2023 17:29

Private research

I think SMP is the most common offering tbh.
I work for a charity and get 12 weeks at 90% after 2.5 years, before that just SMP

Mulledwineandberries · 10/01/2023 17:34

I got statutory maternity allowance. Even crapper that statutory maternity pay. I was back to work within 3 months.

ParentsTrapped · 10/01/2023 17:34

Im a solicitor. I got 26 weeks at full pay in my last firm, now it’s 22 weeks at full pay (though much higher salary).

lieselotte · 10/01/2023 17:35

I don't actually know what my employer offers. I do know that they are constantly being asked to equalise the offering for paternity leave, so assume it is enhanced in some way.

When I had my son I had 5 months on full pay and 5 months on half pay.
