New Job panic- HELP!

Hi 👋

I got a new job which I was due to begin yesterday, however, on Friday I had a call from my manager that some vital paperwork hadn't arrived, so she would ring me today to confirm if documents had arrived to start tomorrow.

I've had no call today, I tried to call/email at the end of the day (roughly the time the manager called on Friday), left a message and emailed but I've had no reply.

I understand the manager is most likely busy etc. My question is... Do I await a phonecard, or should I show up tomorrow morning as if working prepared to go home if not? I don't know which to do!! On one hand, I don't want to look like I am not serious, but also, I don't want to show up and cause any awkwardness!!

Any advice on which to do would be so helpful!! My anxious side is working overdrive!!

Are the documents related to your contract of employment? Or to do with the job you are going to do?

I think I’d show up.

They are to do with the job I am going to do. The reason I am second questioning going in, is because the start date of Monday had to be moved as i cannot be on site without it I am guessing.

I'd show up, but worried about highlighting that the line manager didn't get to calling me!!

This is so weird! I would show up, just in case. I would also be very paranoid they had changed their mind about employing me and were ghosting me!

Can you get up and get ready for work and then call first thing to check whether to go in?

Yup, I am majorly paranoid they've changed theyre mind. Although when we spoke on Monday the manager sounded really keen still, so I'm hoping not!! I can get up and get ready, but have to drop the kids to school, or breakfast club if going in, and its whether I can get through on the phone in time to make it in on time... ahhh I just have no clue what to do!!
