Screen time

9yo DS loves coding using Python and 7yo DD loves to write stories on my iPad. Would 1 hr per day be too much? They don't play any games on it.

I don’t think so, also it’s educational so do you need to be so strict?

I'd probably encourage a 7 year old to simply write stories with a pencil and paper. It really doesn't need to involve a screen. If they don't want to do it with a pencil its probably that the screen is appealing more than the storywriting (not good).

I think an hour a day might not be too bad at 9 if they aren't having any other screen time on top (tv?)

Yes my thoughts too. She's always written stories in pencil and would draw pictures etc. now she wants to write a book on my iPad so got me thinking 🤔

No tv for 9yo, but 7yo sometimes watches a cartoon.

Which bit of this thread has any advertising?

No, of course it isn't.
