Whole class party or a few?

I know lots of people agree whole class parties in school are the best way but is it acceptable in nursery to just invite a couple/few children?

It's my son's 3rd birthday and as he doesn't know that many children his own age I was thinking of inviting just a few from nursery who I've been told he tends to play most with when he's there.

Reasonable or does it still need to be all or none at this age?!

I think the accepted thing is either of those (ie just a few friends or whole class) where it becomes problematic is if you invite most of the class and exclude just a few. Perfectly reasonable to invite just a couple of friends especially at 3!

We’ve never done whole class parties, only ever invited their friends. At that age we did about 10-15 kids for soft play parties.

Inviting just a few is fine. We do that every year.

Inviting the entire class except one or two children is a big no no.

Thanks.

Yes it would literally be just a few out of maybe 25 children so definitely not just excluding one or two!
