Wondering is said wUndering and means thinking curiously about something.
Wandering is walking about aimlessy.

Three times seeing these mixed up has maxed out my polite credit.

Their is no need to let this upset you.

Anisina · 08/01/2023 19:24

Probably auto correct. Mine often changes wandering to wondering and I often don't notice until I've pressed post.

YABU!!! There’s a designated place for this. 😁

halfsiesonapotnoodle · 08/01/2023 19:29

Extremely irritating, I agree OP.

QueenMabs · 08/01/2023 19:33

Yanbu.

Incredibly maddening!

Preggingswearingleggings · 08/01/2023 19:36

I someone use 'weary' in place of 'wary' yesterday and it set my teeth on edge.

Preggingswearingleggings · 08/01/2023 19:36

Saw*

Sparklesocks · 08/01/2023 19:36

Eh. Some people aren’t great at spelling/grammar and get their words mixed up, others delight in being a pedant and pointing it out.

Easily done, isn't it?

Eh. Some people aren’t great at spelling/grammar and get their words mixed up, others delight in being a pedant and pointing it out.

The ones pointing it out are usually the biggest twats though.

bellac11 · 08/01/2023 19:40

It drives me mad

yorkshirepudsx · 08/01/2023 19:41

I love this post so much

For me I see 'definitely' and 'defiantly' mixed up a lot 😳

thentheycameforme · 08/01/2023 21:19

I think it's a Welsh thing, everyone I know who says wandering for wondering, is from Wales.

I actually really like that one, it seems very emphatic!

Some people are dyslexic mate... And we don't announce it or wear a badge. Some people are typing quickly on a phone and don't realise the error. If this is the sort of thing which makes you impolite (aka rude) to people, you have got some prob.

This.

Plus, there is a topic especially for pedants to criticise others. YABU to do it here.

Plus, wandering and wondering sound the same in my accent (even though I know the difference in meaning and when to use each spelling.

So yes, YABVU.
