To just grow a full beard?! (Lighthearted)

I’m in my late 30s and for the last couple of years I’ve been sprouting black spikey hairs on my chin. No PCOS or hormonal issues, I suspect it’s just an ageing thing. It started with one whisker that I plucked and it kept coming back. Then another one appeared. And another. I’m now at a point where twice a week I need to fully prune my chin. They’re prickly and stubbly and I now have about 10-15 that sprout up, get plucked, and then soon sprout back. I reckon I could grow a fuller beard than my DH 😂 CBA with the constant pruning, Aibu to embrace nature and just grow the goatee?! I detest waxing or anything painful, the plucking I don’t find painful just time consuming and I think I’ve got them all, the next morning I spot another one that’s grown back! 🙄

My guess is that this isn’t as bad, or obvious to others, as you fear. But yeah you could grow the goatee 😀

Lol! Just be careful your DH doesn’t get jealous 🤣
On a serious note I find nair facial waxing strips very good and not that painful

10 - 15 is quite a lot.

I would recommend electrolysis. You probably just need 15 minutes every few weeks, it keeps them at bay longer but also weakens them and over time you may find you no longer need it at all, that the hair eventually stops growing back. (That was my experience with lip hair).

Yy it's a pita. My 5yo commented the other day, in public. And now likes to check in on them.

I tried a course of ipl to no avail. As pp, am on the electrolysis now. I snip them off with tiny scissors in between appointments. I leave it too long between appointments, because it's a pain getting there.

39 and had them for at least 10 years! I recently had laser treatment and there has been a massive improvement.

Philips Lumea! Changed my life!

My advice is do this before they turn white with age!

Get em lasered. It 100% is hormonal though and not normal, you're still young. Maybe try boosting some oestrogen.

I just do mine with a dry razor every day, sometimes twice . if I left them I reckon I’d have a full beard within a week. I once made a pact with my sister that if either of us ever falls into a coma or is in some way debilitated, the other must ensure full beard removal is carried out so our dh’s never find out.

i think it’s genetic in my case rather than hormones, I had the full screen for PCOS and no abnormalities in hormones 🤷‍♀️
