Less cuddly

What age did your dc start to become less cuddly with you (if they have)
Dd is 4,5 and still has a cuddle but it’s not the same since she started school, she lies a bit away from me during story at night, used to lie in my arm and just other bits I suppose.
I realise it’s all probably natural and don’t push it, but didn’t expect for it to be this soon 😫

I've still got a fairly tactile 12yo, so try not to worry too much 🙂.

I suppose around the same age but it ebbs and flows. Some days are cuddlier than others.

Mine went through phases. I learned the best thing to do was let her go and then she would come back a few days/weeks later. It shows they feel safe to try boundaries and independance dont be too sad :) mines 15 now and rarely wants a hug it sucks. But then sometimes she just comes and says 'hug?' And cuddles me for a bit. Its cute

My son can't sit for five minutes without asking for a cuddle, I guess they're all different.
What happens if you ask for one yourself?

My dc are all still very cuddly in private - eldest two are more self conscious in front of others (youngest doesn’t give a shit). 14, 13 and 11 BGB.

Eldest is still very cuddly (15) and will approach me for random hugs and snuggle into me if I stay still long enough.

Youngest stopped being cuddly around 4 or 5. They're not very tactile so not surprising. However, they will occasionally snuggle into me for extra comfort.

They both know they're loved and I'm a safe person for them. That's priceless for me even if I miss having them youngest really snuggle into me frequently.

My dd is 9 and still likes a cuddle in front of the tv. Not so much in front of her friends

I can get a cuddle from 8 yr old but he went off kissing anyone at 7.5 6 year old is a teddy bear still.

It's all about personality.

My 21-year-old son cuddles me every time he sees me.
He cuddles his dad too.
We're cuddlers.

7 year old still cuddles me!
11 year old runs a mile.

My dd11 still comes and sits on my knee. She will ask not me snd dh got cuddles everyday. Dh and I both also initiate cuddles- she's just a tactile child, I hope it lasts forever.

Dd is 22 not particularly tactile as a child but loves cuddling up with me now she's older. Loves a sleepover when dh is away too!
Ds was my cuddly child, he co slept for years and sat on my lap, cuddled up constantly etc until he was double figures.
Now I ask politely for a cuddle a couple of times a week, often in the kitchen and he always obliges 😂He's 6ft 3 these days and I'm tiny so it's comical!

Daughter is 6 but is still very cuddly but she baby talks a lot so I think she likes being mummies.

my 8 yr old is not cuddly at all (god I wish he was), but he will cuddle into me for bedtime story and occassionally comes and instigates a quick cuddle with me. Has to be on his terms though. If he sense I am needy for a cuddle he doesn’t want one 😂

19 and 20 year old DDs here, both home from Uni, both snuggled up for what they jokingly call a Mummy Cuddle and a head rub tonight.

None of my kids dislike cuddles.
1 of them (26) can take it or leave it, but the other 4 will hunt me down to sit and cuddle them.
When life is hard, I think of these cuddles and they make me breathe again.
