Is this what I think it is? (Chicken Pox)

I’m due to start a new job today and I’ve woken up to this. DS, 3yo, no illness as far as I can tell. Is this chicken pox?

I'm afraid it looks like it. What rotten timing. Do you have anyone who can look after him?

Rubbish, thanks for replying. No one unfortunately. DH is on a final warning at work for absence - he missed three days for covid (that’s the employer’s rule so not his choice - five days off but his was over a weekend too so only missed three days from work), another one when he was hospitalised (we all were) and then another day when DS was unwell all in the last six months. 3 instances of absence puts you onto a warning and, if he has any absence in the next six months then they won’t renew his contract (it’s an annual rolling contract). And yet the whole country is supposedly screaming out for teachers and he teaches maths and physics. He loves his employer and his colleagues but I do feel like I have to take the brunt of childcare like this because my sector is a lot more understanding.

It does look like it. We’ve just been through it with my DD, she’s 4. On day 5 and spots are mostly scabbed over. Can you delay starting the new job until Monday? Any family that could help with childcare?
