How long does it take stretch marks to fade?

I've recently got a lot of horrible dark red ones, including on the back of my knees which is really upsetting.

I know I can't really do much to fade them and it just takes time, but can you give me an idea of how long they take to fade? I haven't really had to deal with dark stretch marks like this since puberty which was a long old time ago so I can't realy remember.

Thanks

Really depends on what has caused them in the first place. Is is a medical condition, weight gain or hereditary?

It's weight gain from medication which I've since come off and am now therefore losing weight

Afraid I can't give you a timescale, as everyone's skin reacts so individually, but mine were massively helped to fade by morning and evening massaging with Bio Oil.

I've got very pale skin, too, so they were red and highly noticeable.

(Mine were already 4 years old. If yours are new, I imagine you'd get an even better result).
Around hips/inner thigh areas. Caused by rapid medication weight gain, then loss. Bloody meds.

Sorry but I've still got mine ( nearly 60.)

My pregnancy ones faded after a year. They lessened in redness pretty quickly.
