Car insurance cost rocketed

Such a boring one, sorry!
My quote last year was £215 (ok, that was very low) and this year it's £330, using the comparison sites as I always do every year.
Absolutely nothing changed about my circumstances, 1 year older (40s), 1 year more NC and experienced and the car is one year older.

Has anyone else noticed theirs increasing?
Was it because I only have a few days to renew and so they think I won't shop around?

I insured my car for £86.20 this year. Pretty sure it must've been a mistake, I'm 46, car is thirteen years old.

Mines just been renewed for £131.

That was £15 less than last year.

This was the price I found after shopping around (Go Compare) and I just went with it. Haven’t actually had the renewal notice yet as it’s still nearly 4 weeks to go, but I was happy with that price. Perhaps I should have waited.

This is an old car but big engine. Driven by myself and DH with protected no claims. It’s the first time in ages I’ve been able to say neither of us has had a claim or points in the last 5 years. To be fair, the points only seem to add £10 to the price. And I always set the voluntary excess at zero, so possibly could get price down a bit by taking an excess….although actually when fiddling. Around and trying different options in the past, it hasn’t made any difference ir sometimes the reverse to what you’d expect.
