Sorry for the disgusting photo (I’ll post it below this)

Hope it’s ok to post a 2nd post about this- it’s got worse/changed since my initial post so just thought I’d make a new post altogether since it’s now more infected rather than simple psoriasis.

ive got a cut behind my ear that’s not healing. It started as simple psoriasis and now it’s got worse and I think it’s infected. It’s red, very painful, wet, and leaking sticky yellow stuff. I think it started 3 weeks ago but I can’t actually remember exactly, but it seems to have got much worse over the last few days especially. It started out behind the crack of my ear but now it’s spread onto the back of my ear and up my head. I can’t lie on it because it hurts and it’s as if the whole area is on fire.

I’ve been using boiled saltwater to clean it and antiseptic cream from the pharmacy in the meantime but the pharmacist said it needs something stronger so when the doctors reopens I’ll make an appointment. Just wondered if anyone had any advice to try and make it go away or anything I could do at home to help it in the meantime?

Obviously if I could fix it myself without needing to take up a GP or nurse appointment for such a small thing it would be much better so if anyone has any advice or tips I would be really grateful x

111 is basically the number to call for anything healthcare (non-999) out of hours. So previously there would be your own GP out of hours phone number, now you use 111. They can make an appt for minor injuries etc.
They are the ‘I’m not sure what I do about this problem that can’t wait for a GP appt’ number.

Are you a bit worried about seeing a GP or nurse, OP? You seem to be avoiding it.

Yeah I was a bit worried, I’m a bit of a wimp! Also the nhs is crippled at the moment and I didn’t want to waste an appointment for something that might fix itself and doesn’t actually need an appointment x

Completely understandable! Please do phone 111 or your GP, it looks sore! Look after yourself x

Ouch! That looks very painful and definitely infected. Is it improving yet OP?

Have you had it looked at @youaretheonethingonmymind?

As soon as I saw the pic I knew what it was. For years my ears were like this. I always use Betnovate whenever I have a flare up which is rare these days. Like another poster I have it under my breasts also and it gets wet and smelly but the Betnovate instantly stops it. I find underwired bras to be the cause of a lot of it as they are so tight and restricting. If I wear a sports bra it does not happen as much

Completely agree re underwires bras.
