Prolapsed Pile

Jumpitha · 30/12/2022 18:47

Hi all,

Please help me. I’ve been diagnosed with a prolapsed pile at the hospital yesterday and was prescribed Scheriproct and Lidocaine to numb the pain.

I am now on my 4 day with little relief. Painkillers aren’t working, sits bath have stopped working…I am in so much pain I feel sick.

AIBU to ask when the pain will subside? It’s driving me demented and on top of this, I now have stomach cramps (IBS sufferer and have barely eaten as the pain is so bad)

Help me get some perspective please

You poor thing - that’s awful 😭

Bigdamnheroes · 31/12/2022 23:49

Ouch... I hope you feel better soon. I came on to suggest a minimilk in a condom but I see it has burst. Well at least the worst is over.

You poor thing, hope you feel better soon, and I really do wish you a happier new year .

Well, @Jumpitha, that's a bit crap for you (sorry for the pun, which is unintended).
Hopefully now that the medical staff know what it, is they will proceed with a course of treatment for you.
Let them know of any new symptoms, or the ramping up of anything you've spoken to them about before. The very best of luck to you.Flowers

Thank you all for your kindness.

I am so mad at being fobbed off on Thursday, I asked her if we could lance it off (even the triage nurse thought it was an abscess).

Currently waiting for someone to take my bloods and then the surgeon will be down to see me.

All fun and games here, just had my triage interrupted by a man storming in claiming they’ve injected him with something and he’s going to burst and he only trusted the nurse doing my triage…had to leave the room so she could placate him….police are now here as he’s looking for a blade to relieve the pressure. These poor staff

Ouch - Happy New year indeed!

LibbyL92 · 01/01/2023 00:21

Had this start of the year when I was in America!! It was thrombosed as well!

hefty medical bill as I had no idea what it was and the blood was insane.

took me about a week for it to shrink and go away.

Menomenon · 01/01/2023 00:24

This. It will help.

Thank you for checking in. So the diagnosis was wrong and it was a perianal abscess (which I actually suspected).

Have been referred to the surgical team as the fucker burst (but at least I can now sit!) so it needs to be drained. Waiting in a&e now after being at an urgent care hospital which has now referred me here.

Happy New Year to me!

No wonder you were in agony, you are lucky the infection didn't spread. Wishing you a speedy recovery now they know what it is Flowers

Jumpitha · 01/01/2023 02:54

Hi all.

So it is a Perianal abscess which has got infected so I am being admitted overnight for IV antibiotics and should have the operation tomorrow.

Thanks for all of the kindness in this thread, I’ve really appreciated it as don’t want to speak to many people about bum problems in real life!
