I am deputising for my manager. This has been agreed with all other managers. Our team was made aware in person and in writing multiple times.
Colleague came into work today after being off for the rest of the week. He was my manager’s deputy last time and assumed he was this time. He said no one told him that I was deputising, in reality he was in meetings where this was communicated again just last week and liked my manager’s comment on Teams reiterating it last week(!)
Anyway he caused a massive issue in the office shouting and being vile etc and got other managers involved to get me in trouble. They confirmed I’m managing.
He then said he doesn’t have a problem with me and tried to be nice for rest of day. Blamed it on communication issues with usual manager. Aibu to be fuming regardless? He’s taken his anger out on me, and the other manager he’s involved in this is one of his friends
