Fucking menopause can fuck right off

I am lying on the sofa exhausted by the effort of moving a pile of clothes. Because menopause decided that my already heavy and painful periods don't quite hit the spot so last night I had that lift scene from The Shining as my period. Now I am an anemic shell of a person in a cardi on the sofa. Trying to summon the energy to make some tea. I was meant to be shopping with my daughter's, but that isn't happening. Fucking menopause.

I have had some good advice on another thread this one is purely my ranty pity party.

I second the Mirena coil, although I had mine fitted in 2007, around 6 months after having DS, as I couldn’t be arsed remembering to take the pill.

I haven’t had periods for 16 years! It’s been a godsend!

Only trouble now is, i’m 52 and unsure whether I’m going through the menopause or not. I do have brain fog and feel knackered but no hot sweats etc.

I had the Mirena could fitted too, and while it was a godsend re periods it meant that I had no idea when my periods actually stopped and didn't realise I was perimenopausal. Just thought I was going crazy.
Still haven't had a single hot flush or night sweat, which was the only symptom that I'd heard about. It's unreal how little I knew about the whole thing. I wish Davina had done her documentary years ago
And...I don't think it's ever over is it? The periods stop but those hormones aren't coming back.

Hi, your GP should not give you ADs for menopause symptoms, it goes against NICE guidelines. Demand HRT.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to rant also. Its a year later and I typed "How do you kick the menopause in the teeth" , and all I got was how it affects your teeth- negatively of course. So then I type "Fuck the Menopause" into Google, cos I want a book or advice from someone who has fought it and won. I know that may seem stupid but acceptance seems like giving up. I did find a song by some menopausal punks. Good for them. Menopause/perimenopause is shit. And as others have said- no one prepares you. No one told me my hair would fall out. I'm angry. Half the population get this and there is not enough help. Why isn't the NHS proactive on this? No wonder there is a spike in suicides. You change. Sometimes I think I have Alzheimers. Is there info out there that doesn't just tell me how shit it is but how to make things better, how to return back to the real me? Where are the positives? What happens after? Does my memory return? Someone out there must have positives or tips that work, beyond no more periods.
