Laser eye surgery, help keep me sane!

Just posting here for traffic!

Hi everyone, I'm flying to Prague to get laser eye surgery in a few days. Staying for about 5 days. I'm going with DP and past him making sure I'm ok I want him to feel able to explore and enjoy a bit of a holiday when I am recovering. So I'm looking for ideas to entertain myself.

As I have ADHD I am a very mentally active person and find it really hard to 'relax'. I won't be able to look at a screen, use my phone or do anything that requires me to look carefully (like crafting/drawing), or go outside in bright light for a couple of days.

Beyond a podcast and sleeping, can anyone suggest any interesting things I can do so that I don't go completely mad?

Bonus points if anyone has had laser surgery and can give any tips!

You might be pleasantly surprised by your recovery. When I had laser eye surgery I couldn't open my eyes at all on the day of the surgery so I just went to bed and slept. But the next day I woke up and could see perfectly with no pain. They were quite dry and I was light sensitive but was able to carry on as normal with eye drops and sunglasses. And the day after that I was back at work (desk work at a computer).

Wow that sounds brilliant. I'd love to be able to see a bit of the city. I think I am worried about not doing the right thing and doing too much and setting back my recovery. Apparently the recovery time is longer with Smile reflex which is what I'm getting. Tempted to get LASIK instead but I have quite dry eyes anyway.

We have a concert booked 3 days later so hopefully I'll be ok for that!

Ah I was going to say the same, had very quick recovery but that was with lasik.

As it only says avoid bright light I would imagine you would be fine to wander round most of the day in Prague in the middle of winter unless its very sunny, just wear sunglasses as additional protection.

Other than that, audio book? Yoga or other exercise you can do wherever you're staying? (Although i thibk they recommend avoiding very strenous exercise) Any language you want to brush up on - lots do speaking out loud exercises rather than writing. Long phone calls with friends you haven't spoken to recently? Mindfulness/meditation?

QIt really depends what your recovery is like, you might be able to see okay but I would still recommend not concentrating on something like a tv for long intervals.
