Its changed its name to X and its changed from giving you information about programmes to telling you nothing at all. How are you supposed to decide what to watch? Its just the title and nothing else.

YANBU - its turned into a useless random lottery whereby you cant choose what sort of thing to watch

YABU - its clear what each programme is about and you, OP, are just failing to work out how to use a perfectly simple user interface

Itvx is utterly rubbish not worth trying to watch anything

pponk · 06/01/2024 22:21

mine seems full of bugs. constantly breaks and I have to restart it.they don't seem Interested in making it any better though as it's been this way for what..a year or so?

WiddlinDiddlin · 06/01/2024 22:21

It's always been shit right from the start, with programs not being uploaded, ad loops looping forever rather than going to the next chunk of the program, programs not playing at all...

I think ITV go with the lowest budget option for their streaming service and don't really give a shit as long as the adverts get stuck in front of the faces of folk!

NoMoreFalafelsForYou · 06/01/2024 22:23

It's absolute shite.
Takes ages to load, when it does and you settle down to watch something it decides to randomly crash approx 3 minutes before the end of your programme so you don't see the ending properly 😡😡😡

3smallpups · 06/01/2024 22:50

And you get the same few adverts over and over in any one program, sometimes literally one after the other in the same advert break.

GoodTimes10 · 06/01/2024 22:51

I like it.

itsmylife7 · 06/01/2024 22:56

I can't get it anymore since it was upgraded

Apparently my smart Samsung TV doesn't support it 🙄

Same here. My perfectly good TV is apparently too old and has effectively been rendered obsolete by ITV X. Actually it's a fucking disgrace - these people have no regard for the planet.

premiur · 06/01/2024 23:04

Not me wondering why someone had made a thread on this over a year after it changed only to discover it's a ZOMBIE thread

Totally agree its ridiculous.

Firsttimecaller · 06/01/2024 23:20

YANBU it's always been a shit interface but free ITVx is worse than the old free ITV player because they want you to get really fed up and pay for premium. I don't know that would be better but I'm not giving them the chance to prove based on the appalling quality of the free version (ad loops, blackouts, programme drops, terrible search mode and filters).

Firsttimecaller · 06/01/2024 23:21

Also didn't realise thus was a zombie because free ITVx has only been in my region since Nov 23!

It might be zombie but it's still shite a year on

SendARavenToRiverRun · 06/01/2024 23:26

We've had issues with the ITV X tonight. I'm 100% sure that it's a ploy for me to pay for the premium version. Adverts looping and random cut outs. Loads of tosh!

NoMoreFalafelsForYou · 07/01/2024 01:59

@SendARavenToRiverRun
The paid version is just as shite! Did it for a month or two and no improvement whatsoever.

It's still relevant though so not really zombie, it played up and crashed for me only last week.

I pay the subscription and have no issues at all, I watch it most days. I watch through Roku though as the apps on my tv are iffy.

NoMoreFalafelsForYou · 07/01/2024 03:23

@lemmein that's just it though, the apps on my TV are fine, whether it be Iplayer or 4 on demand or whatever.
Only ITV X that glitches and crashes all the time 😕

Keepingittogetherstepbystep · 07/01/2024 03:24

It's utterly garbage, constantly asking you to sign in. Some programmes aren't available on the app but are on the browser, the seraxh facility is appalling but other than that meh.

On mine it's the iplayer app that glitches/shuts down constantly. Though I can't really remember watching itv through the apps - I watch X mainly for the old Britbox content and pre-Roku I would've just used the BBox app.
