To take my cat for a coffee!

(Lighthearted, before any one moans) Since dogs are allowed in coffee shops, i can't see why Cheddar couldn't come along for a latte with me. (Other cat would hate it, but cheddar tells me she would love it!)

It’s a lovely idea. But as pps have said if there are dogs in the cafe pandemonium could result…..

Cheddars face is saying "fuck off and leave me alone". I think you'll have to find someone else for your coffee date.

That is Cheddar's give me a cuddle face!

Reuben would love a cat friendly cafe sadly it wouldn’t be possible as he’s not keen on dogs

Yeah, I wouldn't be doing that (and yes, I did catch the lighthearted bit) because cats hate being outside their own territory. To ensure her safety, you'd have to put her in a carrier of some sort - I don't know about Cheddar, but 99% of cats don't associate carriers with good things, they usually think they're going to the vet! Or, if you take her on a harness and lead, I hope you can run like Usain Bolt because she WILL wriggle out of it and run off. I had a Maine Coon that I showed for a short time and he was the coolest, calmest cat you could meet. But he was an escape artist and I almost lost him several times because he had incredible strength that only manifested itself when he was either hyper interested in something, or scared to death of something.

I love cats (currently have three) and I really don't mean to be 'lecturey'. I've just been a crazy cat lady all my life and have done some pretty substantial research into their behaviour. For a cat, territory is EVERYTHING. Remove it from its territory and you're bound for trouble! (Sorry again for being preachy!)

Cheddar says “it’s a no from me”. She’s just told me she doesn’t do coffee. 🤷‍♀️ Soz Op

kingtamponthefurred · 28/12/2022 12:18

Good luck with getting her to drink her cattelatte.

QueenSmartypants · 28/12/2022 12:19

She would totally people watch from the window and judge those walking by!

Hoppinggreen · 28/12/2022 12:19

Just make sure it’s a plant based latte or catachinno as most cats are lactose intolerant

ghostyslovesheets · 28/12/2022 12:25

I’d join you and bring this little git but he’d knock everything off the table and claw your feet

She says she'll sample any food that's going though!

Going for a coffee with Chedder?

That's crackers 😁

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 28/12/2022 13:04

Do it. My ex in laws used to take their cat everywhere they could, including pubs etc. i would love to have done that if mine would have liked it but they wouldn't take to a lead

Mumof1andacat · 28/12/2022 13:10

I would love to take my cat out. I've always wanted to take him to the local pet shop. They have a big fish area

Cheddar looks more like an after dinner brandy sort of cat

Kanaloa · 28/12/2022 16:43

I mean I wouldn’t take Cheddar for a coffee because I wouldn’t want to see how mad her face gets if they accidentally write the wrong name on her cup. Why’s she so mad? Sorry but I just don’t think Cheddar is that into you.

whataboutsecondbreakfast · 28/12/2022 16:47

A lady near us has a Savannah cat that she walks on a lead and takes into pet-friendly shops. His name is Bagheera Grin

Joystir59 · 28/12/2022 16:47

Cheddar already looks monumentally annoyed by life, not sure being taken out to a dog friendly cafe would help

Pugdogmom · 28/12/2022 16:47

We have a cat cafe locally, and I think Cheddar would love it. I would go to a cat cafe, as I love cats but can't have one as one of my dogs detests cats.
Cheddar is gorgeous x

Talapia · 28/12/2022 16:49

Cheddar looks like a whiskey drinker to me !

Toddlerteaplease · 28/12/2022 16:52

Cheddar gets very sad when people think she is grumpy. She really isn't! She's a total cuddle chops!

Go for it, I’ve taken my cello out for a pizza before 😄

SkylightSkylight · 28/12/2022 17:01

We used to take our hamster!

we did sit outside though in case it upset anyone.

Nameneeded · 28/12/2022 17:06

Do it ! I’d love to see a cat in a cafe .

Amiable · 28/12/2022 17:13

Yes, YABU - but I can kindly come and cat-sit Cheddar for you?! Totally for your benefit of course, it's not as if I'm desperate to have a cat but have a child with severe allergies or anything.... (She looks adorable!)
