Rash on nearly 3 year old (pics)

Shamelessly posting for traffic whilst waiting on call with NHS.

There was absolutely nothing wrong till yesterday. Still her usual self but in the space of a few hours since waking up, she now has a rash like this on the back of her legs mainly and hands (not much on her front so far though).

She had fever last week and antibiotics then. Does this seem familiar to anyone? Thanks

Looks like eczema, does it feel rough?

SummerHouse · 27/12/2022 11:08

Possibly allergy related. Any new PJs, washing detergent. Or eczema which might have come on due to previous raised temp.

She sounds fine though and thats the main thing.

Could be a viral rash - every time ds had a virus even if he had AB’s he came out in a rash like this-it’s just a reaction to it. That been said I usually had them checked out with a gp just to make sure it’s wasn’t anything else - he grew out of them at about 8 x

Could it be ring worm?

Thank you for your replies
@MeinKraft no not rough at all, never had eczema in the past but maybe I will try oat bath to soothe her, have asked her and she says not itchy at all
@SummerHouse I hadn’t thought that, yes new Christmas pj which was sort of fleecy fluffy. Yes she seems well and has been playing so fingers crossed
@lissie123 this is what DH been saying, maybe she has an antibiotic rash, she had amoxicillin.
@loz12345
My first thought too, but not ring shaped or itchy or any other symptoms that go with it

My son often gets post viral rash

OllytheCollie · 27/12/2022 11:29

My DC always got viral rashes at that age and as an adult I sometimes do too. They are benign. Antihistamines may help if it's itchy. ATM it may be worth getting it double checked at a walk in center but if she's fine in herself hopefully nothing to worry about.
