Day eight of bedbound by flu . All fun Christmas stuff cancelled.

Aibu to think I should be feeling better by now, not still having a river of cold and a horrendous cough

I don’t know but I join you in the lurgyfest. I spent three days in bed the weekend before last. Seemed ok last Tuesday and got up, have been coughing and feeling a bit shit for the last week. Went downhill big time yesterday afternoon and am now convinced I’m dying. Am too ill to sleep and can’t lie down and am in so much pain. Covid tests all negative.

Sorry both, it took me a full two weeks to recover and feel myself again. I had never felt so ill in my life. Not sure if it was because I was pregnant though.

Two weeks

It sucks

Dishwashersaurous · 27/12/2022 09:05

It's so rubbish. That whole, flu so bad couldn't get a £50 note thing, so so true.

Just so annoying that happened when had actual time off work for the first time in months, and spent all of it in bed feverish

I’m on day 7 here. I’ve had a few hours of feeling better, but then I regularly feel like I am back to square one.
I had to work yesterday evening, I felt absolutely dreadful again by the time I got home at 11pm,
shivers, aches. I cannot stop sweating at night either. Which feels disgusting.

sympathy to all those that feel so unwell and hope you are feeling better soon.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 27/12/2022 09:09

I'm on day 13. Still coughing and got stuffy nose. Can do stuff but don't feel great and fed up of coughing

midgetastic · 27/12/2022 09:11

Just to note that under uk law you can get your leave allowance given back and take the Christmas as sick leave if that could help you

3 weeks to fully recover. The third week was just a lingering (and very annoying) cough.

Hang in there!

checkedcloth · 28/12/2022 09:08

I am day 8 today. I have a terrible stiff neck, feel no better at all. Really starting to struggle with making no progress at all.
how is everyone else doing?

Newuser82 · 28/12/2022 09:15

I got it three weeks ago yesterday, still absolutely exhausted and have a bad cough. Hoping to feel better everyday!
