I am going to be purposefully vague ...

I ordered some clothes online from a
Company I have an account with. I pay a one off annual fee that covers next day delivery.

The order was placed at the end of November. I had an email the same day to say that the package was with the delivery company. It never arrived the next day and finally, after a number of long discussions with the company, they finally credited the moment back into my account last week.

On Christmas Eve I had an email through from the delivery company to say that the parcel was out for delivery (nearly three weeks late). I then had a further email from them showing the parcel had been left on my doorstep. We were out. When we got back it wasn't there. Not surprising considering it was left on the doorstep in a busy city centre..

I've also had an email through from the original company saying it had been delivered, as they've been advised by the delivery company.

I've emailed the delivery company and said it wasn't received.

Is that enough?

I don't want to get caught up in lots of conversations considering I've had a refund already.

Just make sure you include the picture showing it not safely delivered but left outside your property

The photo of her empty doorstep?! Not sure that proves much Grin

Ah man this kind of post is infuriating

Firstly - they’ve refunded you already. That’s not conditional on this “lost” order being delivered ages later. You pay for next day delivery, it didn’t happen, so they’ve taken the decent decision to refund you the item cost.

Then you said this

I then had a further email from them showing the parcel had been left on my doorstep.

ok. So was it “showing” a clear picture of your doorstep @SnoringHusband ? Was it yours? Remember, you still don’t owe them the item back even if it is.

We were out. When we got back it wasn't there.

That’s not the retailer’s fault, that surely is the case for any delivery made to your door if you’re in a city centre??

Sorry to be particular but like many Mumsnet posts you’re compounding a bunch of things into a salad of “whatabouttery”

The retailer hasn’t asked for the item back. They refunded you, what happens after that… well …

I don't think this post is infuriating.

I think she's simply asking our advice.

I'd just hold fire and wait to see what happens, then respond!
