To not believe that she is 38?!

Watching Hollyoaks as heard good things about their recent storyline.
Googled the girl who plays Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) and was amazed to read she is 38 years old. Looks way younger, very beautiful and amazing figure.

Samia has aged for sure.

Human female ages in 25 years. HOLD THE FRONT PAGE!!!

FFS! Hmm

Passthebaton · 27/12/2022 11:52

Shocker. Woman in late 30s dares to look sexy and glowing. Cheekfillers aside, why would women upwards of 30 - slim, pretty and confident - be viewed as exceptional/rare? A very telling OP.

krill · 26/12/2022 23:52

Of course she does, even with cheek filler, and that's her actual age, nearly 40. She doesn't look 20s, even late.

´Piss off' though? I'm nearly 40 too and I don't see it as a bad thing. She's still attractive at nearly 40. It is possible you know Grin

This. Of course Nikki looks late 30s, when you look properly and take off the filters, and her mum DOES look 70. No amount of hair dye and fillers and filters changes that. You can see it in her face and her neck.

As you said, saying 'oooh she look good at 38' is fucking insulting. Like a woman of nearly 40 can't look good. Hmm

MaryJean87 · 27/12/2022 11:58

She looks a few years younger in my opinion. I think she could pass for around 34 but I don't think that's anything remarkable, some people do look younger, same as some look older. But regardless, she looks good.

This. ^ Many women I know over 40 are fucking gorgeous, sexy, vibrant attractive women. More attractive than many men of the same age actually. And no botox or fillers either. The very idea that a woman can't be attractive at nearly 40 is laughable - and rude!

Shesasuperfreak · 26/12/2022 18:49

I agree with you there. When I watch old shows from the 80s I cant belive some of the 20 something contestants. Wrinkles, balding, bad teeth...

I think lifestyle changes have made a big difference.

@Shesasuperfreak

Never seen 20-something people fit this description - ever. Not in any game shows, or old photos, or any video or film footage, ever. Confused What on earth are you watching where people in their 20s are balding, and wrinkled, and have awful teeth? Confused

Bubblesdublin · 27/12/2022 12:05

Samia has aged a lot....

lancastercourt · 27/12/2022 12:12

I know a few people have mentioned fillers/good lighting but in 'real life' with little makeup and sat in McDonald's she also looks great. I wouldn't put her in her early 20s but if you'd said she was 30 or thereabouts I'd not question it.

I love her as Maxine so was amazed when I saw her sat a few tables away in McDonald's with her family

Shesasuperfreak · 27/12/2022 12:13

Watch old crime shows, old films.

I watched the Exorcist tge other day and was shocked at how young the priest was, the one who jumped out the window. He looked at least in his late 40s not early 30s.

Even shows on Challenge like Bruce's Price is Right or Bullseye 🎯.

I will hear them say I'm 25, and my jaw will drop.

Bubblesdublin · 27/12/2022 12:26

I think as she had not had her kids yet also has helped.

Whatdayisitalexa · 27/12/2022 12:29

Remember Tina O'Brien was playing the part of someone much younger, so genetics definitely factor in. Looking at that picture of Nikki aka Candice she's no stranger to a bit of help and a good filter also. Genetics also dictate your menopause age...and that's a Biggie I think. With good genes, a healthy lifestyle a bit of help (teeth) etc and hormones 38 is not old, especially with photo filters!

Ohdofuckofdear · 27/12/2022 12:38

I've always thought she was gorgeous and like you I can't believe she's 38 she looks amazing.

If she wasn't famous I bet she'd get asked for I.D alot to prove her age.

TinaTeaspoons · 27/12/2022 12:50

I'm sure she does still get I'D checked.
Same with Tina O'brien. Can see how it happens even if it does seem unbelievable to many.

About 6 or 7 years ago I used to see her in a super low-setting. She didn't seem to have a scrap of make up on and was always very fresh faced and pretty.

Meltinthemiddle · 27/12/2022 15:30

I stand by not having kids helps! All my child free friends look young. The sleepless night and stress definitely plays havoc l!

LadyVictoriaSponge · 27/12/2022 15:51

It’s really not hard to look young and vibrant up until about 50 if you are slim fit, fashionable and well groomed, then it becomes much harder when post menopause hits, of course 50 plus can still look great but it is more difficult to stay slim without extra effort, and the jawline does become slacker and skin is in a downward trajectory no matter how good your diet and exercise regime. Piece of piss to look great at 38, I would join in your admiration if Nikki was 58, let’s talk then.

Cheerfulpedantry · 27/12/2022 15:58

PeaceJoySleep · 26/12/2022 15:09

I don't think signs of ageing are that apparent at 38, especially when women are healthy, slim and can afford expensive moisturisers.

This!

There was a thread a while back about ' when did you start ageing' Around mid 40s seemed the general consensus - though there were some people saying younger or older. But I think most people aren't really ageing at 38.

Southeastdweller · 27/12/2022 16:07

Hollyoaks watcher here. Nikki always looks amazing and occasionally has scenes where she wears little or no make up, she looks mid to late 20s in those scenes too. I think looking your age or looking prematurely older is less to do with genes and more to do with attitude and lifestyle, so I bet she has lots of early nights, doesn’t smoke, regularly exercises and is a healthy eater. Being overweight also ages people.

Cantbebotheredwithchores · 27/12/2022 16:08

38 isn't old! It's still young and most signs of ageing doesn't really occur at that age. My sister and a few of my friends are 38/39 and I don't think she looks any younger than them. She a is beautiful women with a nice figure. Also Nikki has had Botox on her forehead which will help with the smooth look.

krill · 27/12/2022 16:09

Yes, I remember that. Facial ageing will have started for many in 30s though; the beginning of crows feet and other lines. Genetics has a big part to play there but not the only factor.

In Style and Beauty there have been many threads over the years about fillers and Botox starting in 30s. Recent ish thread with good results for forehead lines with botox for someone younger than late 30s, though the botox didn't completely eradicate them it was a big improvement.

Rambling on there. Long story short I agree with you but I think signs of ageing (facially) start becoming noticeable in 30s but more apparent mid 40s, depending on the person.

Kitcaterpillar · 27/12/2022 16:09

Always love the 'must be something in the water' comments.

Botox. There's Botox in the water.

krill · 27/12/2022 16:10

And I agree that bodily fitness as the actress appears to have can be very youthful indeed with all that entails.

Dartmoorcheffy · 27/12/2022 16:14

I agree OP, she's hardly aged since Corrie and definitely looks mid 20s to me

Yup. It’s the same phenomenon that drastically ages prime ministers Grin

Do you think she's had botox?

I didn't notice that, but certainly cheek (across cheekbones scaffolding) filler in one picture because of vertical lower facial lines.
